Ranking methodology
iGamesBox preserves the meaning of each platform's public data instead of presenting one unverifiable global player count.
Official order
Xbox Most Played, PlayStation Best Sellers, Nintendo Best Sellers and Roblox charts are kept as ordered official lists. Nintendo release calendars are ordered by official dates, while Roblox topic pages rank verified search results by players online. Epic entries preserve current and upcoming free-to-keep status. None of these values is relabeled as sales or players unless the platform defines it that way.
Platform activity
Steam current players and Roblox playing-now values are reported only inside their source platform. They can be ranked within that platform because their definitions remain consistent there.
iGamesBox Momentum
A future cross-platform view uses within-platform percentiles for official position, seven-day movement, persistence, freshness and confidence. The score remains separately labeled and versioned.
Public tool formulas
Similar Games pages score candidates with formula version igb-similar-v1 (35% genre overlap, 20% game modes, 15% shared official lists, 10% platform availability, 10% price proximity, 10% activity quality). The game recommender orders results with igb-recommender-v1 (popularity, review quality and platform coverage weights shown per selection). Random tools use a seeded FNV-1a hash so every pick is replayable by its seed, with no sponsored weighting. Price observations are USD, US region, collected from official store snapshots; we report the lowest observed by iGamesBox since collection began, never an all-time-low claim.
Failure behavior
Live fetches use platform-aware caches and retry temporary failures. Roblox topic pages also retain verified universe IDs as a discovery fallback, then refresh their details and media from Roblox. Pages that fall below their minimum complete data threshold are kept out of the sitemap and search index until the source recovers.
